“Playful Process” and “The Artful Eye”
with Daniel Mendoza

Playful Process (for Children Ages 5-7)
Monday through Friday
June 20 to June 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

($70. Instructor will provide supplies.)

The Product of Process art class will give children the opportunity to learn the process of art using age-appropriate materials and subject matter. Centers will be designed so that children may explore various mediums through flow, function, and form. Composition will then take place as children use the skills they have learned in class to complete group and individual works by the week's end. Along with art materials, children will be enriched with the vocabulary and history of art. Classes are constructed in a manner that allows children the opportunity for self-discovery through the encouragement and mindful engagement of the instructor.

The Artful Eye (for Youth 12-16)
Monday through Friday
June 27 to July 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

($85. Instructor will provide supplies.)

This class is for the beginner, intermediate, or advanced student. Students will learn fundamental skills allowing them to take their art work the next level. Composition will be a reoccurring theme as we look at and complete value scales, color wheels, and mixing charts. We will work together to create a "masterpiece," from sketch to final product in a manner that is often used by fine artists across the world. The process will give students the ability to use what they know about art and awaken their artful eye. Along with various art materials, students will learn method of mediums, history of art practices, and artistic vocabulary.
