ARTIST’S STATEMENT:  I began my artistic career using watercolors, but now favor the fluidity of acrylics, a medium with a “more forgiving nature.” Most of my work is representational, but I delight in abstractionism for the surprising, exciting and often unexpected results that not only impact my creative style, but also the viewer’s interpretation of my work.  My process is intuitive, with my passion for intense colors, shapes, patterns, and texture driving my vision. The whimsical nature of my paintings is displayed in both my abstract work and my colorful character pieces.  My heartfelt representations reflect a thoughtful and philosophical purpose in which color not only influences, but also inspires, my outlook on life and the good in all of us.

BIO:  A list of Pattie’s accomplishments includes representation in numerous galleries, artistic awards, published artwork and signature status membership in several art societies. She has been featured three times in the “Southwest Art Magazine.” A passion for color and shapes is evident in her abstracts, where she defines her intuitive process with multi layers of color.  Her use of bright blues and yellows bursting through the reds, pumping up the energy of her work, is seen in her award-winning artwork “Party Time.”  Not content to simply blast the canvas with the saturated colors, she takes a torch to the paint until it bubbles and warps with the fantastic textures, as seen in her painting, “Very Merry.” She recently participated in the 2022 Placer County Artist Studio Tour.  Her work may be seen at the Art League of Lincoln, the Gold Country Gallery in Placerville, CA and the Artistic Edge Gallery in Sacramento, CA.  Her artwork has been acquired by patrons throughout the U.S.
